Effective immediately, the process of reviewing applications from foreigners for immigration permits in Ukraine, if they have been married to a Ukrainian citizen or immigrant for over 2 years, now entails mandatory testing and interviews or questioning.
Both spouses will undergo testing and interviews tailored specifically for each couple. The questionnaire comprises 45 questions, and the interview will be limited to 3 hours, recorded as a video or audio file. Additionally, migration service personnel may involve relatives of the couple in the interview.
These changes are introduced to scrutinize circumstances where the fact of being married to a Ukrainian citizen or immigrant is not considered grounds for granting immigration permits.
