To initiate the registration process, it is necessary to apply to the Ukrainian Intellectual Property Office (UANIPIO) with the following documents:
- Application for state registration;
- Copy of the work (depending on the format of the work: text/image/audio recording/video recording);
- Document confirming the fact and date of the work’s publication (if applicable);
- Receipt for the payment of the official fee.

Following the document check, UANIPIO issues a conclusion on the grounds for entering information about the state registration of copyright into the State Register of Certificates of Copyright Registration. Based on this conclusion, the applicant receives a certificate of copyright registration for the work.
